Employee Spotlight

"In September 2011, I started my career with IRI as an on-call staff working at the DiBari Day Habilitation center in Woodhaven, Queens. In March 2012, I became a full-time employee, supporting the individuals at the 120th Day Habilitation center and worked as a Day Habilitation Specialist until 2014. I was later promoted to the employment sector program which helps people with developmental disabilities learn job skills and find employment. Currently, I have helped numerous individuals find and keep employment. There isn’t a better feeling I can think of. IRI believes in recognizing its staff. I have received humbly received two Employee of the Month recognitions and was honored as the 2015 Employee of the Year. Working with IRI is rewarding and at times even fun. We put the people we support first. They really are the cornerstone of everything here."

-Ryan Ali, Day Habilitation Specialist

"I have been an employee at IRI for seven years. I began as a direct support professional working in the Long Island At-Home Services department. I then became Assistant Manager and now Manager for the same program. I now manage the Respite, Community Habilitation, and Crisis program for Long Island. I find that the most meaningful part of my job is being able to provide a service where our guys can become a part of their local community and also become as independent as possible. I love seeing them thrive at home and in their community. I enjoy working at IRI because we put our guys first and I have an amazing team supporting me."
